Tanis Aircraft Engine Heater
Per TANIS, their system is permanently installed and can be powered by an extension cord with access to 110 volts. The TANIS System operates by conduction heat directly to each cylinder and oil system, with wattage specifically matched to engine mass. On a standard system, thermal pads are bonded to the engine, hot plugs are screwed into existing holes, and a wiring harness is installed. The system will keep operating even if one of the elements in the system should stop functioning, and replacement parts are available. If the airplane is flown regularly, the system may remain plugged in all winter. Over 25,000 systems sold since the mid-seventies. FAA-PMA approved. Only a logbook entry, no STC or Form 337. Continental powered aircraft, order by engine model. Lycoming powered aircraft, order by both engine model and airframe designation. Standard system price for TSIO-520 size six cylinder engines is approximately $514; however, prices vary depending upon existence of engine monitoring systems, and depending upon specific engine models. Call for proper system pricing.

E-Z Heat Aircraft Engine Heater
Per E-Z Heat, their system is an easy installation, is applied directly on the bottom of oil sump. Two basic types, either a one-pad model, or a two-pad model. Reduces engine wear. Allows easy flow of engine oil to vital components in extreme sub-zero weather. No cutting of hoses or removing of cylinder probes. Heats 12 quarts of oil from -40°F to +60°F in 1 hour. Uses less than 300 watts, compared to some heaters that use between 800 and 1600 watts. Heats entire engine in about 4 hours. Thermostatically controlled to monitor engine oil temperature (cycles at 165°F). Thin, flexible pad easily contours to virtually any size oil pan. Permanent. Once applied, unit need not be removed. FAA approved. No STC required. Order by aircraft make and model, specify model of Continental or Lycoming engine, including suffix

STC Approved Hot Strip Windshield Heater
Hot Strip Windshield Heaters are now STC approved for the following Cessna aircraft: Cessna 310Q/R, T310Q/R, 335, 340/A, 401/A/B, 402/A/B/C, 414/A, 421/A/B/C. These kits can be installed by an aircraft mechanic and are all FAA Approved parts. The installation time is approx. 20 hours non-pressurized and 30 hours pressurized.
